The Piano Lesson is an interesting study, not only of the punishment of an eighteen year old who must still wear school uniform, but of her humiliation. The girl books private tuition to learn the piano, but thinks it strange that her attractive lady teacher insists that when she attends in future she must always be in school uniform, even if she has to borrow the one her sister still wears. The first lesson is worse than she could ever have imagined. Visitors arrived during her evening tuition - a smartly dressed prison wardress in her crisp uniform and her bitchy schoolgirl daughter.
