In this breathless exquisitely paced film, Girlfriends, the modern master of erotica Andrew Blake takes leg/foot fetish to its ultimate heights. Foot and leg adoration are not merely explored here with Blake's lens, they are fully examined with scientific precision. Mild bondage and S/M, exquisite lingerie, sex toys and lush flesh are all utilised in ways that appear more whole and complete than how they have been utilised in other productions, but legs and feet and how they look in stockings are really the primary focus. Those textures and the texture of a breast or a buttock when struck are also something that Blake captures exceptionally well here, considering that no sound is emitted from any of the performers. Instead, there's an excellent ambient score by Raoul Valve. It enhances the preening of the lovely women and gets a pre-nom for Best Musical Score. Pre-nom for Best Art Direction for the film's stunning, resonant look as well. The editing Blake does is first-rate as well and the timing of the sensual pauses is emotionally correct in nearly every case. Justine, a pale redhead in a thong, seamed thigh high stockings and many black-beaded necklaces writhes seductively, the darkness of the necklaces contrasting with her pale flesh. She pulls her panties up between her pussy lips and pauses before taking them down entirely and spreading herself open. She really is there to show off her legs and feet, and that she does. Foot/leg fetish has likely never been captured this well, and those who love it will buy this in droves. While the title of this film may be a bit misleading in that stocking-clad feet are more important than girl/girl love as far as the erotic agenda, the film's feel and look are gorgeous.
