In Dream Lovers, from 1987, Tracey Adams comes a-calling when friends Steve Drake and Nina Hartley buy their rustic-style dream house sequestered deep in the woods. Only in this house, people have dreams. Strange, sexual dreams and premonitions that turn very real. Atmosphere wins over a plot in this one. Nice, romantic hues embellish the sex scenes which are tastefully photographed and briskly paced. The Drake/Hartley match ups are vivid and exciting. Whether dream or reality, it's hard to distinguish, as the weekend guest, certainly gets her money's worth of excitement. The woman can't seem to walk anywhere in the house without getting her bones jumped by some figment of her imagination. Maybe the real point here is to check your real estate listings more closely.
